Are you currently using your Automated Purchasing system or is it one of those parts of the system to be implemented someday? Many companies have thought about getting the Purchasing system up and running, but the number of controls and settings is so overwhelming that they just don't know where to start. Other companies have actually tried to use the Below Order Point and Below Line Point or other Replenishment reports, but the Buyers change most of the order quantities because the system's numbers just "don't make sense."

Automated Purchasing systems have Global controls, Product Line controls, Branch controls, and controls on individual products by individual branch! It's vital that you understand how these controls work together (or against each other) in order to tailor the system to the way you do business.

The Automated Purchasing Workshop is two or three days of on-site consultation working on your live system with actual data. During this workshop, your controls will be set to reflect your business philosophies, selected product lines will be set up and readied for automated purchasing, and your people will be given an understanding of what happens when settings are changed. You will also receive an action item list of the steps to be taken to address the remaining product lines.
